World Neighbors- international agricultural aid World Neighbors is a charity that provides aid to some of the poorest villages in the most remote and fragile parts of the world, beyond where the road ends and where most other relief agencies will not go. Rather than simply providing food or aid, they provide aid in training local people to provide for themselves. They allow local people to determine the direction improvement projects will take so they get what they REALLY need. Much of their efforts are aimed at improving agricultural practices through sustainable methods such as terracing and making their own fertilizers through vermiculture that won't require a constant influx of foreign aid. Making sure that the land can support the people is the foundation for all their other programs. If the farm land stay productive, they don't have to clear new fields from forests. Having enough to eat makes health issues easier to deal with and so on.
